This qualification is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to ensure safe and effective exercise programming for patients with a number of medical conditions and common reasons for referral, onto a community-based exercise referral scheme.
This course is delivered via blended learning with face-to-face practical days and remote online teaching.
Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Exercise Referral
You’ll be working towards an Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Exercise Referral. Throughout the six units on the course, you’ll be learning all about anatomy and physiology for exercise and health, nutrition, medical conditions for exercise referral, how to instruct exercise with referred patients, planning exercise referral programmes, and professional practice.
This course will Successful achievement of this qualification will provide entry to the Chartered Institute for the Management
of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) as a practitioner in exercise and fitness.
Who is this course for?
Learners must hold either a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym/Exercise to Music or Aqua) or equivalent, or one of the following:
- Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training.
- Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork.
- Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Yoga.
This accredited achievement is valued and recognised by employers and can assist learners to increase/enhance their career opportunities, progression and earning potential, as a qualified exercise referral instructor.
